WEEK 5: REVERE JESUS: AS YOUR LORD: Do you revere Jesus by living victoriously with the Holy Spirit?
Day 27: Mon 12 Mar, 18
“Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!” John 1:29
Do you revere Jesus by living victoriously with the Holy Spirit?
“For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we shall certainly be united with him in a resurrection like his. We know that our old self was crucified with him in order that the body of sin might be brought to nothing, so that we would no longer be enslaved to sin. For one who has died has been set free from sin. Now if we have died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him. We know that Christ, being raised from the dead, will never die again; death no longer has dominion over him.”
Worship: My Beloved
In today’s devotional we rejoice at the resurrection of Jesus Christ – His victory over death, “that through death he might destroy the one who has the power of death, that is, the devil, and deliver all those who through fear of death were subject to lifelong slavery.” Hebrews 2:14-15 “Death is swallowed up in victory. O death, where is your sting?” 1 Corinthians 15:54-55
“The Holy Spirit proved by a powerful act that Jesus our Lord is the Son of God because He was raised from the dead.” Romans 1:4 Read the eye witnesses who testify to Jesus’ resurrection and appearance to many. (Matthew 28, Mark 16, Luke 24, John 20) “And with great power the apostles were giving their testimony to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and great grace was upon them all.” Acts 4:33
You were dead in sin. “But if Christ is in you, although the body is dead because of sin, the Spirit is life because of righteousness. If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you.” Romans 8:10-12
Tell someone this Good News: “By his power God raised the Lord from the dead, and he will raise us also.” 1 Corinthians 6:14 “We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life.” Romans 6:4, “in order that I may gain Christ and be found in him, …that I may know him and the power of his resurrection, and may share his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, that by any means possible I may attain the resurrection from the dead.” Philippians 3:8-11
“Therefore my heart is glad, and my whole being rejoices; my flesh also dwells secure. For you will not abandon my soul to Sheol, or let your holy one see corruption. You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.” Psalm 16:9-11, “…let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfector of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.” Hebrews 12:1-2
“Now may the God of peace who brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great shepherd of the sheep, by the blood of the eternal covenant, equip you with everything good that you may do his will, working in us that which is pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.” Hebrews 13:20-21

Follow Jesus as His Disciple
Be blessed as you look to Jesus – your Lord, the risen One -
- To find in Him power over the grave and hell itself.
- To receive from Jesus His resurrection life as a signature on your life.
- To reflect that when Jesus’ body lay in the tomb we were not there to tenderly anoint His body but, as His disciples, we have the privilege now to minister as the Lord’s body through kindness to his forgotten ones. "'Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.'” Matthew 25:40 Recognise who you can bless today with the resurrection power of God. Be the body of Christ.

Pray All People Hear the Gospel
Lord, we pray resurrection life in Christ for the people in our local area and the Australian towns of Prairie, Pentland, Homestead and Charters Towers in Queensland where the Queen’s Baton is today – especially those who are ill or facing death. We pray this too across the nations represented at the Commonwealth Games; and the 216,000 unreached Miao, Mashan people of China, from Ethnic Religions. They need 4 workers and have none.
