WEEK 6: REVERE JESUS: THE LAMB IN GLORY!: Are your prayers aligned with Jesus’ intercession in Heaven?
Day 33: Sun 18 Mar, 18
“Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!” John 1:29
Are your prayers aligned with Jesus’ intercession in Heaven?
“Now the point in what we are saying is this: we have such a high priest, one who is seated at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in heaven, a minister in the holy places, in the true tent that the Lord set up, not man.”
Worship: Crown Him
In this final week we revere Jesus as the Lamb in Glory! We see Jesus ascended and ministering from heaven to establish His Kingdom on earth in preparation for His eternal reign over heaven and earth.
“Great indeed, we confess, is the mystery of godliness: He was manifested in the flesh, vindicated by the Spirit, seen by angels, proclaimed among the nations, believed on in the world, taken up in glory.” 1 Timothy 3:16 “ …God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” Philippians 2:9-11 “After making purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high.” Hebrews 1:3
Gratefully revere Jesus as our mediator before God (Hebrews 9:15, 1 Timothy 2:5, Ephesians 1:18-23), our High Priest interceding in the heavenly realm. (Hebrews 7:25) Jesus is perfectly qualified to turn aside all accusation and condemnation! (Romans 8:34, Revelation 12:10) Jesus understands us and is on our side, “…he had to be made like his brothers in every respect, so that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest in the service of God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people. For because he himself has suffered when tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted.” Hebrews 2:17-18 “Since then we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin.” Hebrews 4:14-15
Through Jesus we are God’s royal priesthood! (1 Peter 2:9) “Jesus Christ the faithful witness, the firstborn of the dead, and the ruler of kings on earth. To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood, and made us a kingdom, priests to his God and Father, to him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.” Revelation 1:6
Jesus has positioned us to intercede from a heavenly perspective, so we pray in agreement, and in alignment with heaven. “And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus.” Ephesians 2:6 “Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.” Colossians 3:1“Truly, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. Again, I say to you, if two of you agree on earth about anything they ask, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them.” Matthew 18:18-20
Follow Jesus as His Disciple
Be blessed as you look to Jesus the ascended Lamb in glory!
- To revere Him as the One who is worthy to represent us and to appeal to Him as your heavenly Advocate, who is continually interceding for you before the face of your Father.
- To understand the access, power and responsibility you have been given as an appointed priest, to intercede for the salvation of those around you, the human race and the earth.
- To partner with Christ )and others so you can become local houses of prayer and together build 24/7 prayer covering over your area. (Luke 18:1-8, Matthew 21:13
